Indications for Use

Azacitidine (for subcutaneous or intravenous administration) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with the following subtypes of French-American-British (FAB) myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS): refractory anemia (RA) or refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (RARS) (in the presence of neutropenia or thrombocytopenia or the need for a blood transfusion), refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB), refractory anemia with excess blasts in transformation (RAEB-T), and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML). Azacitidine is also indicated for the treatment of children 1 month of age and older with newly diagnosed juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia.
